More than a billion people around the world do not have access to clean water.
On occasion, Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) receives reports that a person(s) claiming to be a BWSC employee(s) vandalized or stole from a customer’s home. Senior citizens and disabled persons are particularly vulnerable to this practice. To protect yourself, your family and your home, please remember these important safety points:
BWSC employees, as well as consultants working for BWSC, are required to provide you with an official photo ID card. If you don’t see it – Ask for it.
Unless an emergency water or system incident occurs, BWSC employees will come to your home by Appointment Only.
Payments are only accepted by mail, at the BWSC main office, online at bwswc.org website or at a designated Neighborhood Site Locations.
If you are unsure about letting a BWSC employee into your home, Customer Services Department for verification at 617-989-7800.
